November 17

My birthday. Spent the morning in Montmarte, stomping ground of Toulouse Latrec, birthplace of impressionism (notice the blurry photos), Dalida et al. The Moulin Rouge is here. It's still seedy. Rue Lepic is wonderful, cold! Darren beside complimentary automobile.

...and a complimentary fridge. S M E G _ _.

Orange...Green.

A rare Sacre Couer pic that no one ever photographs.

Her home was here. Get down tonight!!!!

Someone inside, let 'em out!

The unsung Moulin from the Montmarte.

Jean Francois got us a spot at the famed Grande Vefour for dinner this night. Louis xiv played and learned to ride hoseback in the Grande Palais courtyard behind the dining room. The chef from The Cafe Chartres, (later renamed Grand Vefour) developed the special cuisine for the sun king, who loved the hunt and loved his game, but had very soft teeth. This food was later to become synonymous with french food. This is what we had for dinner. For better and for worse. Voltaire was a frequent customer, Victor Hugo?!?! The dining room is restored by the Louvre. It's spectacular. This is my birthday dinner. Thank you, Darren!!!
